IVVQ Engineer - Space Propulsion Systems (M/F)
You will work on the full verification chain, from in-house benches and vacuum chambers to environmental test facilities.
Founded in 2017, ThrustMe is a pioneering space technology company revolutionizing the space propulsion industry. We made history in 2019 and 2020 with the world’s first in-orbit demonstrations of iodine-fueled electric propulsion systems based on RF ion thruster technology. Today, we are the global market leader in electric space propulsion for satellites below 150 kg, with more than 250 ion thrusters operating in space and over 1,000 systems ordered. We are growing rapidly from 70 to over 100 employees, with a significant part of the team dedicated to developing, industrializing and mass-producing space propulsion systems based on new concepts.
As ThrustMe enters a new phase of industrial growth, we are scaling our Product team.
About the role:
We are looking for a Integration, Verification, Validation & Qualification (IVVQ) Engineer (M/F) to own the testing and qualification of ThrustMe's electric propulsion systems for satellites, from system-level functional and non-regression testing to environmental qualification campaigns at external test facilities.
As part of the Product team, you will make sure that what we design is what we ship. Every requirement verified, every hardware or software evolution checked for regression, every qualification campaign prepared, executed and documented to customer and space industry standards. You will work closely with system, electronics, embedded software, mechanical, innovation, production and quality teams.
This is a hands-on role. We are not looking for a test documentation profile: you will set up and run test benches, analyse data, investigate anomalies and represent ThrustMe on site at external test laboratories.
Your Responsibilities:
Define and maintain the system verification and validation strategy, including the verification control matrix (test, analysis, review of design, inspection) and traceability from requirements to test evidence.
Write, execute and report system-level test plans and procedures: functional, performance and interface tests on engineering, qualification and flight models.
Build and run non-regression test campaigns for each firmware, electronics or design evolution, and develop test automation on our benches (scripting, data acquisition, automated reporting).
Prepare and lead environmental qualification and lifetime test campaigns at internal and external test facilities: from test specification to on-site test conduct and final report.
Manage test subcontractors: requests for quotation, technical specifications, test slot planning, cost and schedule follow-up, test witnessing and acceptance of test reports.
Define test configurations, fixtures, harnesses and ground support equipment, in coordination with mechanical and electronics teams.
Prepare and lead Test Readiness Reviews and Test Review Boards, and contribute to qualification and acceptance reviews with customers.
Contribute to the definition of acceptance test procedures for series production.
Required competencies and experience:
5+ years of professional experience in verification, validation or test engineering on complex electronic or electromechanical systems.
Hands-on experience in environmental qualification testing including preparation and conduct of campaigns at external test laboratories.
Experience writing test plans, procedures and reports, and maintaining requirement-to-test traceability.
Experience in non-regression testing on hardware/software systems, ideally with test automation (Python, LabVIEW, HIL or equivalent).
Ability to read electronic schematics and interface definitions, and to work with standard lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, spectrum analysers).
Fluent English, written and spoken. French is a plus.
Nice to have but not mandatory:
Aeronautics or Space testing standards knowledge
Experience with test facilities management.
Vibration testing know-how: sine, random, shock.
EMI, EMC, Radiation know-how
Vacuum testing, plasma systems, high-voltage or power electronics, propulsion systems or satellite equipment experience is a strong advantage.
Who are you ?
You are hands-on and rigorous: you enjoy being in the lab or next to the shaker as much as writing the procedure.
You see testing as an engineering discipline rather than a final checkbox, and you push for testability early in the design.
You are autonomous: you can represent ThrustMe at a test facility, make decisions during a campaign and handle unexpected events.
You are structured and organized: a test that is not documented is a test that was not done.
You are comfortable working with suppliers, customers and cross-functional teams.
Why join ThrustMe ?
As ThrustMe moves its propulsion systems from engineering models to qualified, flight-ready products, the IVVQ Engineer is the one who turns designs into proven hardware. Every qualification campaign you lead directly unlocks customer deliveries and flight.
You will work on the full verification chain, from in-house benches and vacuum chambers to environmental test facilities, with direct visibility on how your work translates into propulsion systems flying in orbit.
It is a role with strong technical ownership and the opportunity to shape how ThrustMe structures verification, non-regression and qualification as the company scales.
